Frequently Asked Questions
Clear answers to the questions patients and families ask us most often.
“Best” is not always the most famous or the most senior specialist. What matters is finding the person whose expertise is most relevant to your particular case.
Our searches are led and reviewed by experienced researchers, using medical literature, specialist sources and other relevant evidence. We look at the specific problem, the specialist’s area of expertise, clinical focus, experience, and relevant research and publications, and search for the person best matched to your needs.
This may mean a consultant, psychiatrist, psychologist or another specialist, depending on the case.
We can do more than provide names. Where needed, we can approach specialists or centres, help arrange consultations, share the relevant medical information, and support the practical steps needed to move the case forward.
You will have a named member of the AngloMedical team responsible for coordinating your case and keeping you informed. Other members of the team may be involved where their expertise is needed.
AngloMedical does not diagnose or prescribe treatment. If a case requires clinical interpretation or medical judgement, we will seek input from an appropriately qualified medical professional.
This depends on the complexity of the case and on how quickly specialists or medical centres respond. Once we understand what you need, we will give you a realistic idea of the likely timeframe for our part of the work.
We cannot control a specialist’s availability, but we will keep you informed as the case progresses.
Yes. If we do not believe we can add anything useful to your case, we will tell you.
The cost depends on the work your case requires. We assess each case individually and will explain the proposed scope and fee before any paid work begins.
You will always know the cost of the agreed work before we begin.
Yes. Our fees cover the work we have carried out, rather than the decision you ultimately make.
We agree the scope and cost of each stage with you in advance, so you remain in control of whether you want us to continue.
No. Our search starts with the needs of the case, not with a preferred doctor or institution. We look for the expertise that appears most relevant, wherever it may be found.
Yes, where needed. We can help with appointments, communication with hospitals, medical records, accommodation, transport, and other practical arrangements.
For care outside the UK, the exact support we can provide will depend on the country and the circumstances of the case.
