Global Medical Intelligence
Looking beyond the obvious
When a medical case is complex, the right answer may not be found in the nearest hospital, within one healthcare system or even in one country.
AngloMedical conducts a thorough worldwide search to identify the expertise, evidence and treatment options most relevant to your individual case.
We look beyond directories and general reputations. Our search is case-led: the diagnosis, clinical history and specific question determine where we look, whom we identify and what evidence we examine.
The aim is simple: to give you a clearer understanding of the options that may genuinely matter.
Global Expert Search
The best-known specialist is not necessarily the right specialist for your case.
We search internationally for clinicians and clinical teams whose expertise is specifically relevant to the medical problem.
Depending on the case, we may consider:
- clinical specialisation and subspecialisation;
- experience with a particular disease, procedure or treatment;
- published research and clinical interests;
- involvement in relevant clinical trials;
- expertise in rare or unusually complex cases;
- specialist centres and multidisciplinary programmes.
In some areas, including complex mental health cases, identifying the right clinician may require looking beyond professional titles to their specific clinical focus, therapeutic approach and experience.
We provide a focused shortlist based on relevance to the case, rather than reputation alone.
Treatment & Technology Intelligence
Medicine develops rapidly, and treatment options can differ substantially between countries and specialist centres.
We search internationally for treatments, procedures and medical technologies, either in response to a specific clinical recommendation or as part of a wider search for specialist expertise and options.
This may include:
- established treatments and procedures;
- specialist surgical techniques;
- newer medicines and treatment combinations;
- medical devices and treatment technologies;
- treatments available in specialist centres but not routinely offered elsewhere;
- newer approaches supported by emerging clinical evidence.
We distinguish between established clinical practice, newer evidence-supported approaches and treatments that remain experimental.
Clinical Trials & Emerging Therapies
For some patients, particularly where standard treatment options are limited, clinical research may open another route to explore.
We can conduct an international search for clinical trials relevant to the diagnosis and clinical circumstances.
Our search may include:
- actively recruiting clinical trials;
- trial phase and study design;
- treatment or intervention being investigated;
- inclusion and exclusion criteria;
- participating hospitals and countries;
- principal investigators and research teams;
- the scientific rationale behind the study;
- practical considerations affecting potential eligibility.
Where appropriate, we also examine therapies in development that may not yet be available as standard treatment.
Finding a trial does not mean that a patient will be eligible or that the treatment will be appropriate. Our role is to identify relevant possibilities and provide the information needed for discussion with the treating medical team or trial investigators.
Precision Medicine & Advanced Diagnostics
Some medical cases require access to highly specialised testing or diagnostic technologies that may not be readily available locally.
If further investigation has been recommended, we can help identify the right provider or specialist centre in the UK or internationally.
This may include searches for:
- genomic and molecular testing;
- tumour profiling;
- specialist pathology review;
- advanced or highly specialised imaging;
- liquid biopsy;
- specialised biomarker testing;
- companion diagnostic testing;
- specialised diagnostic technologies available internationally.
Our role is not to decide which investigations are clinically required. We help locate the relevant service or specialist centre, establish where it is available and, where appropriate, support access and coordination.
Where a new specialist opinion is needed first, we can also help identify an appropriate expert to review the case and advise on the next steps.
Preventive Medicine & Longevity Intelligence
Preventive and longevity medicine is developing rapidly, but the quality of evidence varies enormously.
New tests, screening programmes, biological-age assessments, devices and interventions are often marketed long before their clinical value is clear.
Our approach is deliberately evidence-led.
We can search for relevant services, technologies and evidence in areas such as:
- advanced health screening;
- cardiovascular and metabolic risk assessment;
- cancer risk and early detection strategies;
- genetic and genomic risk assessment;
- advanced biomarkers;
- bone, brain and cognitive health;
- imaging and diagnostic technologies;
- emerging preventive interventions;
- selected longevity and healthy-ageing programmes.
Where the evidence is uncertain, we say so.
Our role is not to promote fashionable treatments, but to distinguish established medicine from promising but unproven science, and from marketing presented as medicine.
Every search is evidence-led
Finding an option is only the beginning.
A new treatment may sound impressive but be supported by limited evidence. A highly publicised specialist may not have the most relevant expertise. A clinical trial may be scientifically interesting but not applicable to a particular case.
We assess the quality, relevance and limitations of the evidence behind the options we identify.
Where several credible routes emerge, we can also compare specialists, centres or approaches across countries to clarify the important differences.
How Global Medical Intelligence can be used
Global Medical Intelligence can be used in different ways depending on the question you need answered.
Global Options Review
You may already have a diagnosis and treatment plan but want to know whether other meaningful options exist elsewhere.
We can examine the international medical landscape around your case and look for:
- alternative treatment approaches;
- specialists or centres with particular expertise;
- newer technologies or procedures;
- relevant clinical trials;
- diagnostic information that could potentially change the available options.
The purpose is not to challenge your existing medical team for the sake of it. It is to establish whether anything important may have been missed.
What’s New in My Condition?
For people living with a complex, chronic or long-term condition, the medical landscape can change over time.
New drugs are approved. New clinical trials open. New diagnostic technologies become available. Specialist expertise develops.
We can conduct an updated search to identify what has changed since your previous assessment or treatment.
This may be particularly useful where:
- treatment options have previously been limited;
- the disease has changed or progressed;
- current treatment is no longer working as expected;
- several years have passed since the original diagnosis;
- you want to understand whether new possibilities have emerged.
Preventive & Longevity Review
For people seeking a more advanced approach to prevention or healthy ageing, we can investigate specific tests, programmes, clinics or proposed interventions before significant time or money is committed.
We examine what is being offered, what evidence supports it and where important uncertainties remain.
The question is not simply:
Can this be done?
It is:
What is the evidence, what does it suggest the intervention may achieve, and what are its limitations?
Every search begins with the case
There is no standard list of hospitals, doctors or treatments that we apply to everyone.
We start with the individual case and the question that needs to be answered.
The scope depends on the complexity of the case.
A Global Medical Intelligence review may result in a concise briefing or a more detailed case report containing:
- the question we investigated;
- key findings;
- relevant specialists and centres;
- treatment or diagnostic options identified;
- relevant clinical trials;
- supporting medical evidence;
- important uncertainties or limitations;
- comparison of relevant options where appropriate;
- suggested questions to discuss with clinicians;
- possible next steps.
We explain not only what we found, but why it may matter.
Finding the right option is only useful if you can access it.
Where needed, AngloMedical can help approach specialists and centres, arrange consultations or medical opinions, coordinate the transfer of medical information and support access to the services identified through our search.
